WSCs Scheil Hits Two NCAA Provisional Marks to Start Outdoor Season at Wildcat Classic

Wayne, Neb.  — Junior Mckenzie Scheil hit NCAA provisional marks in the weight throw and shot put to start the outdoor track and field season leading the Wayne State women Saturday at the Wildcat Outdoor Classic held at LeRoy Simpson Track in Wayne.  The meet attracted Division I South Dakota along with NSIC schools from Bemidji State, Northern State, Sioux Falls, Southwest Minnesota State, St. Cloud State and host Wayne State.

A junior from Fairmont (Fillmore Central HS), Scheil had an NCAA provisional mark of 45’ 10” in the shot put to place second and was third in the weight throw with a heave of 194’ 9”, another NCAA provisional mark.

Jadin Wagner also hit an NCAA provisional mark in the weight throw, taking seventh at 173’ 5”.

Freshman Megan Hansen had a strong day for the Wildcats, placing third in the 100 meter hurdles (15.25) and fourth in the 200 meter dash at 28.21 seconds.

Junior Jordyn Pester had a strong second place finish in the 400 meter dash at 1:00.30 with junior Alison Dykman collecting a second place finish in the high jump clearing 4’ 11”.

In the triple jump, Keyla Sambo was third at 34’ 5 ¾” with Riana Noelle fourth (33’ 2”).

Kenzie Sullivan collected a pair of fifth place finishes in the shot put (43’ 2 ¼”) and discus 139’ 0”.

In the 1,500 meter run, Allie Rosener was fifth at 5:18.38 with Molly McCartney sixth (5:25.09).

Sophie Noecker placed fifth in the javelin (87’ 11”).

Wayne State will compete next on Saturday, April 3 at the UNK Central Nebraska Challenge in Kearney starting at 11 a.m.
