Wayne State closes the regular season with key NSIC South Division games at Augustana this weekend. Games are set for Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Sanford Pentagon at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Wildcats enter the weekend sitting in first place in the NSIC South Division (9-3) and 9-5 overall while the Vikings are fourth place in the division at 6-5 and 8-5 overall. Last weekend, WSC won road games at Southwest Minnesota State 82-54 and 74-56 while Augustana swept their weekend series with city rival Sioux Falls at USF 67-65 and 75-66. Last season, Augustana won both matchups against the Wildcats – 75-66 in Wayne and 74-72 in Sioux Falls.
Wayne State hosts NSIC South Division leader Augustana University to close out the regular season this weekend at Rice Auditorium in Wayne with game times set for 6:30 p.m. Friday night and 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats are 6-8 overall and sixth place in the NSIC South with a 5-7 league mark while the Vikings are 9-4 overall and sitting atop the NSIC South Division at 8-3, one-half game ahead of Concordia-St. Paul. Last weekend, WSC split home games with Southwest Minnesota State (W 74-60, L 85-49) while Augustana beat city rival Sioux Falls twice at the Sanford Pentagon 76-68 and 80-74. Last season, WSC won both matchups against the Vikings – 80-76 in Wayne and 77-67 in Sioux Falls.
