Wayne State Men and Women on the road this weekend

The Wayne State College mens basketball team hits the road this weekend for NSIC South Division games at Minnesota State Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Concordia-St. Paul Saturday in a 5:30 p.m. contest. The Wildcats are 6-15 on the season and 3-9 in the NSIC South Division entering Fridays game in Mankato against the Mavericks, who have won seven of their last eight games and are 10-8 and tied for second in the NSIC South at 8-4. CSP enters the weekend with marks of 6-10 and 4-8 in the NSIC South Division. Last season, MSU defeated the Wildcats twice – 90-79 in Wayne and 89-78 in Mankato – while WSC beat CSP in both matchups last year 77-68 in Wayne and 94-74 in St. Paul.

Wayne State faces key NSIC South Division road games this weekend as the Wildcat women travel to Minnesota State Friday night at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Saturday 3:30 p.m. contest at Concordia-St. Paul.  The Cats are 13-5 overall and tied for second in the NSIC South with an 8-4 league mark.  MSU is 9-7 overall and 6-6 in the NSIC South while CSP starts the weekend at 9-9 and 6-6 in league play.  Last season, MSU swept WSC winning 80-78 in Wayne and 90-82 in Mankato while WSC and CSP split with each team winning at home – WSC 71-49 in Wayne and CSP 84-58 in St. Paul.
