UNO Men lose at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. — The Omaha mens basketball team visited Colorado Wednesday afternoon, falling 91-49 at the CU Events Center.

Leaders for Omaha
LaMel Robinson scored in double figures for the first time in his career, finishing with a season-high 11 points while hitting 5-of-6 at the free throw line.

Jadin Booth added eight points off the bench on a pair of threes with three assists, and Sami Roe had seven points with three more helpers.

Matt Pile pulled down a team-leading 11 rebounds and pitched in six points. Ayo Akinwole dished out a team-high five assists.

Leaders for Colorado
McKinley Wright was 6-of-8 from the field to lead all scorers with 17 points, five rebounds and eight assists. Jabari Walker finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Dallas Walton (14) and DShawn Schwartz (11) also scored in double figures.

Evan Battey added nine points and eight rebounds.

Team Stats
Omaha shot 31% (19-of-61) to Colorados 50% (31-of-62) as the Buffs hit 11 threes for the day. CU had a 45-32 advantage on the glass.

Omaha had 14 assists on its 19 field goals.

Inside the First Half
Colorado capitalized with a few key runs in the first half, one at 10-0 in the first four minutes and another at 14-0 during a six-minute Maverick scoring drought.

Booth stepped up late in the opening stanza to hit back-to-back triples, finishing the half with six points to lead Omaha. The Mavericks trailed 47-25 at the midway point.

Inside the Second Half
Robinson chipped in eight points in the second half to pace the Mavericks. Wright stepped up for CU, contributing nine points and all five of his rebounds.

The Mavericks are now 2-6 on the season, while the Buffs improve to 4-1.
