TUCSON, Ariz. — The Omaha men’s basketball team punctuated a four-game road swing Wednesday night at No. 14/15 Arizona, falling 99-49 at the McKale Center. The Mavericks are now 5-7 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 10-1.

Leaders for Omaha
Matt Pile collected 10 points and 12 rebounds for his second straight double-double and his fourth of the season. KJ Robinson connected on a trio of threes en route to a game-high 15 points.

Leaders for Arizona
Nico Mannion had a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists to lead a contingent of five double-figure Wildcat scorers. Chase Jeter and Josh Green each had 15 points, followed by Dylan Smith (14) and Ira Lee (12). All of Smith’s scoring came in the first half.

Christian Koloko grabbed a team-leading 10 boards to lead UA on the glass.

Team Statistics
Arizona, which hit 12 threes for the night, shot 57.6% (38-of-66) to Omaha’s season-low 26.6% (17-of-64). The Wildcats outrebounded Omaha 47-33 and had a 44-20 advantage in the paint.

Inside the First Half
Matt Pile led the way out of the gate, putting up eight points and eight rebounds in the opening 20, while Robinson had another eight points. The Mavericks shot 30.3% (10-of-33), but ended with a 4-of-4 stretch from the field over the final 2:22. Robinson canned a long three — his second triple of the game — to put Omaha on a 7-2 run to close the half, at which point UA led 43-23.

Inside the Second Half
Arizona started 5-of-6 from the floor and heated up to 65.5% (19-of-29) in the second act. The Wildcats put together an 11-0 scoring run midway through the half.

Noting Tonight’s Game
-Arizona now leads the all-time series with Omaha, 1-0.
-The Mavericks are 1-7 all-time against Pac-12 opponents.
-Arizona is the fourth nationally-ranked opponent Omaha has played in its Division I era. Previously, the Mavericks faced No. 13 Kansas (Dec. 18, 2017), No. 18 Louisville (Nov. 17, 2017) and No. 19 Iowa State (Dec. 5, 2016).
