OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha volleyball edged North Dakota State, 3-1, in a hard-fought match behind four players with double-digit kills.

The Mavericks edged North Dakota State in four sets (23-25, 26-24, 25-23, 28-26), where every point came down to the wire.

With the win, Omaha improves to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in league play, while the Bison fall to 5-9 and 0-2 in Summit League action.

•    Sadie Limback posted a career-high of 21 kills on .405 hitting.
•    For the sixth-straight match, Anna Blaschko had double-digit kills (11) and above .300 hitting (.409).
•    Freshman Sami Clarkson notched her fourth double-double of the year with a career-high 58 assists and 10 digs.
•    Omaha has now won two-straight matches after falling in the first set. Omaha defeated North Dakota 3-1 two nights ago.

Omaha and North Dakota State exchanged points in the early-going of the match. The Bison built a 13-11 lead, but the Mavericks eventually took the lead with a 4-0 run (18-17). The Mavericks and Bison were tied at 23-all in the set after Blaschko notched a kill. NDSU, however, won the next two points on a kill and an ace to go up 1-0 in the match.

Four-straight Bison points put the Mavericks in an 8-6 hole in the second set. The deficit increased to 13-7 after five consecutive Bison scores. Omaha got the monumental run it needed and sparked a 9-1 surge sparked by a Limback kill. The Mavericks led by as many as four (22-18) late in the frame, but the Bison refused to go away. NDSU tied it up at 23-all once again, but this time, Omaha got the win it needed with another Limback kill and a ball handling error on the Bison.

Omaha surged ahead, 6-2, with two Limback kills and multiple NDSU attack errors. Omaha’s lead increased to four (18-14) with kills by Blaschko and Clarkson, but the Bison were able to go on a 5-1 run and tie the score at 19-all. Late in the set, NDSU led 23-22 over Omaha, but the Mavericks closed out the set with a 4-0 run kills by Claire Leonard, Blaschko and two attack errors by NDSU.

An intense final set fell in favor of Omaha for the win. Despite leading 6-1 early, NDSU tied it up at 15-15. Omaha saw itself in a 21-19 hole after a pair of Bison kills, but got the momentum it needed with three-straight team kills by Limback, Blaschko and Leonard. The Mavericks saw match point on three different occasions, but NDSU kept answering. The fourth time proved to be the charm after a Rylee Marshall kill and another Bison attack error sealed the set, 28-26, and the match, 3-1.

Omaha looks ahead to its Summit League road opener this Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Oral Roberts. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla. For more information, visit
