Softball and volleyball on the KNEB schedule for Thursday

Softball and volleyball on the KNEB schedule for Thursday

The start of the 2019-2020 high school sports calendar was late last week but tonight things jump into high gear here at KNEB.

We’ll have a pair of broadcasts for you; softball on the TV side and radio coverage at a great venue that should be even better now.

Our broacast will feature rivalry softball as Scottsbluff hosts Gering.

The Bearcats enter at 0-2 and coming off a loss on the road to Sterling CO on Monday night. They dropped their opening game last Friday at Lexington 10-9 in eight innings. Then on Saturday they lost an opportunity to play multiple games as the Lexington Tournament was rained out.

Gering sits at 2-3 on the season after stops in North Platte and Aurora last weekend.

We’ll have coverage tonight on, ALLO channel 15, and Mobius 1500 starting at approximately 6:45 with first pitch scheduled for 7 o’clock. The JV game will start at 5.

And we’ll also be over at the remodeled gym at Gering High School where it’s the start of the volleyball season tonight as Gering plays host to Alliance.

Gering looking forward to having a full schedule of home games this year with a brand new game floor installed along with a few new seating arrangements and a definite new look for the gym.

Gering last year went 17-19 on the season while Alliance was 29-6 and that included a trip to the state tournament.

You don’t see this all that often here in the region but tonight’s match features a pair of division one recruits; senior Zoee Smith of Gering has committed to play at the University of Wyoming while Jordan Hopp for Alliance will head to Iowa State.

You can hear tonight’s match on 101.7 The Trail and starting at 6:45 with first serve scheduled for 7.
