SEWARD- It was over quickly In Class B softball action in Seward Tuesday evening, as the #6 Bluejays, playing with several reserves, dominated in a 12-0 rout over Schuyler that ended after 2 1/2 innings due to the run rule.
The Jays pounced on Schuyler pitcher Lucy Mendez with four first inning runs, then put the game away with 8 more scores in the second inning. The big blow of the frame was a monster home run by Seward junior Claire Geidel, her 11th of the season.
Junior pitcher Ellie Greisen picked up her first win of the year in the circle, allowing no hits and just one base runner in her 3 innings of work. Seward ends the regular season 17-7, while Schuyler falls to 0-19.
