SEWARD – The Seward boys basketball team finally cracked the win column with a 48-40 win over Schuyler Tuesday evening in Seward. The Bluejays got off to a slow start and trailed 16-10 after the first quarter. They outscored the Warriors 38-24 over the final three quarters, with a steady offense and a tenacious defense, holding Schuyler senior Aaron Langemeier to just four points – 12 under his average.  Schuyler got 19 points from senior Easton Hall, but no other Warrior scored more than seven points in the contest. Sophomore Drew Covalt led the way for Seward, with 17 points, including 9 of 10 shooting from the free-throw line. Junior Sam Schroeder added 10 points for Seward. With the win, Seward is now 1-9, while Schuyler fell to 5-6.
