NECC’s Ty Heimes qualifies for NJCAA DII Men’s Golf National Tournament

RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Ty Heimes (Battle Creek, Neb.) qualified for the NJCAA DII Men’s Golf National Tournament after tying for ninth-place at the Region XI Preview over the weekend at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa. 

Heimes shot a three-round total of 235 over the course of two days. In the first round he shot an 80, followed by a 76 and a 79 on the par-72 course. As a team, the Hawks finished in fifth-place out of nine teams. Jordan Hart (Omaha, Neb.) tied for 23rd-place with a 248, while Everette Carroll (Harlan, Iowa) shot a 249. Carter Schnoor (Randolph, Neb.) tallied a 250 to tie for 23rd-place. John Canham (Norfolk, Neb.) finished in 32nd-place with a three-round total of 259. 

Heimes will compete from May 18-23 at the Swan Lake Golf Resort in Plymouth, Ind.
