Minutemaids and Stewart Look Good Against Swedes

GOTHENBURG – Amaya Stewart came into the game against Gothenburg with a earned run average over 14, but buckled down in this one to only allow four earned runs getting the win 12-4 over the Swedes

Stewart was also potent with the bat going 3 for 3 and scoring two runs.  Teamate McKenna Moats had four hits on the night and Alyssa Winter chipped in with 3. Kalli Sutton also added a towering two-run homer that erased the lead that the Swedes gained in the first inning. As a team, the Minutemaids had 17 hits on the night to get their third win.

For Gothenburg, Hanna Devlin took the loss pitching four innings and giving up nine hits and five earned runs. Devlin was the only Swede to have a multiple hit night as she went 3 for 2 on the evening. The Swedes did have a 3-0 lead after the first inning, however Lexington scored 12 in a row to put the game out of reach.

With the loss, Gothenburg falls to 2-7.
