LV/SS Girls, Boys Split Doubleheader with Oakland-Craig

HOOPER – Logan View/Scribner-Snyder hosted Oakland-Craig in girls and boys basketball aired on 107.9 The Bull Thursday night, Dec. 3.

The Knights won the girls game 68-37, with the Raiders taking the boys game 55-46.

The girls game was close early, with the teams trading buckets quickly, before they both went a little cold towards the end of the first quarter, and O-C led 16-10 after one.

The Knights went off for 22 points in the second quarter and took a 38-22 lead in halftime.

Oakland-Craig then outscored LV/SS 18-2 in the third quarter, leading 56-24 at the end of the third quarter.

The Raiders outscored the Knights 13-12 in the fourth quarter, but O-C won the game 68-37.

Chaney Nelson led four players in double figures for the Oakland-Craig girls, scoring 19 points. Sadie Nelson added 15, Makenna Pearson scored 14 and Edie Anderson had 10 Points.

Grace Schlueter was the lone player in double figures for LV/SS with 12 points.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder will host Twin River on Saturday, while Oakland-Craig is off until Tuesday, when they host Clarkson/leigh.

In the boys game, LV/SS led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter.

Oakland-Craig had a strong surge to close out the second quarter, where they outscored the Raiders 23-11. The Knights led 32-22 at halftime.

LV/SS scored the first three points of the second half, before O-C answered with three in a row, putting them back up by 10 at 35-25. But those were the only three points that O-C would score in the quarter, and LV/SS closed the gap, down just 35-31 heading into the fourth.

The Raiders came out big in the fourth quarter, getting 14 points from Garrett Kriete, while they also made 12 free throws. LV/SS outscored O-C 24-11 in the fourth, winning the game 55-46.

Kriete had 20 points for the Raiders, along with 11 for Jayden Korman and 10 for Connor Larson.

Gunnar Ray scored 17 for the Knights.

Both boys teams are back in action on Saturday, with Oakland-Craig travelling to Boys Town, and Logan View/Scribner-Snyder hosting Twin River.
