Joens Named Big 12 Co-Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas – Iowa State sophomore Ashley Joens claimed her fourth Big 12 Player of the Week honor of her career, the league announced Monday.

Ashley Joens averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, earning herself Co-Player of the Week, while leading the Cyclones to two big wins in league play. Joens scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in ISUs win against Kansas. She shot 50 percent from the field against the Wildcats. On Saturday, Joens netted 13 points and grabbed eight boards in ISUs win over Kansas.

Joens is currently first in the Big 12 in scoring, with 22.5 points and ranks in the top-10 nationally. Her four big 12 Player of the Week awards this season is the most of any player in the league.

Joens and the Cyclones are back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. when they take on No. 2 Baylor on FS1.
