AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (23-14, 0-9 Big 12) fell 10-0 to No. 7 Texas (31-3, 6-0 Big 12) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at the Cyclone Sports Complex.

The explosive Longhorn offense was on display once again Sunday, as Texas consistently churned out runs throughout the day. Mary Iakopo started the scoring with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. A Janae Jefferson RBI double extended to UT advantage to 3-0 in the second.

Colleen Sullivan kept the Longhorns rolling with a two-RBI double in the top of the third, followed by a McKenzie Parker two-run homer in the fourth to put the Longhorns in front, 7-0.

A Cyclone error allowed one run to cross in the top of the sixth, and Sullivan finished the day off with a two-run home run to secure the run-rule victory.

Sami Williams and Alesia Ranches each collected base hits, but the Cyclone offense struggled to find success against Texas ace Shealyn OLeary. The sophomore allowed just two hits and rang up six strikeouts on the day.
