LUBBOCK, Texas – Iowa State (28-19, 3-12 Big 12) fell 3-2 to Texas Tech (19-25, 3-15 Big 12) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field. The Cyclones took games one and two in Lubbock, but were unable to complete the series sweep, as the Red Raiders won on a walk-off base hit in the seventh inning.

The Red Raiders took their first lead of the series in the bottom of the second inning, capitalizing on back-to-back doubles by Ellie Bailey and Arriana Villa to lead-off off the frame.

Iowa State followed suit in the top of the third. Sami Williams collected a lead-off infield single, followed by a RBI double to left field, allowing Williams to score from first and tie the game at 1-1.

Milaysia Ochoa sparked a two-out rally in the top of the fifth to help Iowa State take the lead. The freshman singled through the right side, and then stole second base. Following a walk drawn by Kali GoseKasey Simpson roped a RBI single through the left side, allowing the speedy Ochoa to score and put the Cyclones in front, 2-1.

The lead was short-lived however, as Riley Love hit a lead-off home run in the home half of the inning to tie the game at 2-2.

The Red Raiders would then win the game in the bottom of the seventh. Base hits by Kelcy Leach and Love put runners on the corners, and Jacee Hamlin collected the walk-off hit to win the game, 3-2.
