HS volleyball, tennis results

In high school volleyball last night for the two schools in town it was a 1-1 evening.

Gering improved to 2-0 on the season by winning in four sets at home over Torrington; 25-12, 19-25, 25-20, and 25-10 the final scores.

In the win for Gering it was senior libero, the University of Wyoming recruit, Zoee Smith, with a milestone night. Smith eclipsed 1,000 digs for her career in the win.

Gering will play this weekend at the Gillette Tournament.

Scottsbluff finally opened their season on the game floor with a three set loss on the road at Chadron. The final scores were 25-7, 25-23, and 25-14.

Scottsbluff will play at home tomorrow night (Thursday) against Alliance and we’ll have coverage on KNEB.tv, Allo channel 15, and Mobius channel 1500 starting at 6:45 with first serve at 7 pm.

Boys tennis

Gering dropped their dual to Torrington but Gering showed well in a couple of spots.

At No. 2 singles Hunter Walker won easily, 6-1, 6-2 and at No. 1 doubles the Gering team of Dyson Dollarhide and Trent Davis picked up a win, 6-3, 6-2.

Gering will compete at the Scottsbluff Invitational on Saturday.
