There was plent of volleyball and softball last night including our KNEB Sports schedule with three volleyball matches from here in town plus a local football game.

#5 Sidney def. Gering 2-0; 25-21, 25-11

Gering def. Kimball 2-0; 25-9, 25-3
- Sidney improved their record to 12-1 and they’ll travel to the Aurora Invite tomorrow.
- Gering is now 7-12 and the win over Kimball snapped a seven match losing streak.
#2 Chadron def. Scottsbluff 3-1; 25-14, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20
- Chadron is 12-2 and their only losses are to Sidney and C-1 #1, St. Paul. Those two teams have lost a combined one match so far this season.
- Scottsbluff had to feel good about claiming the one set and being in two others as they played competitively all match long with the Cardinals. Scottsbluff is still looking for their first win over a in-state opponent this year.
Softball (Ogallala Quad for SB and Gering)
Scottsbluff 8, McCook 6 (8 innings)…Keela Peters tossed a complete game for the win and Scottsbluff got three runs in the top of the eighth inning and held on for the comeback victory. Talera Kinsey, Brady Laucomer, and Mariah Avila all with multi-hit games in the win.
North Platte 9, Scottsbluff 1…Scottsbluff managed only two hits on offense and they committed five errors defensively. Only two of the nine runs Kymber Shallenberger allowed were earned runs. Scottsbluff falls to 7-13.
Gothenburg 4, Gering 3…The Bulldogs scored their three runs in the first inning and that was it. Maddie Wiese struck out nine but took the loss in the circle. Gering got extra base hits from Wiese and Kiana Island.
Cozad 4, Gering 3…Gering came in having won 12 of their last 13 games but they drop a pair and fall to 15-8 on the season. Gering will host Holyoke, Colorado tomorrow at home in a doubleheader starting at 10 a.m.
