Here is the non-high school football rundown of some scores and upcoming events for the weekend.
There was triangular action yesterday at Gering with the Bulldogs, Scottsbluff, and Alliance.
- Gering def. Alliance 3-2…Hunter Walker won at No. 1 singles, Mark Karpf won at No. 2 singles, and the Bulldogs No. 2 doubles team of Trent Davis and Kaid Ybarra also picked up a win.
- Scottsbluff def. Gering 4-1…Mark Karpf moved to 2-0 on the day with another win at No. 2 singles while Dawson Mohr knocked off Hunter Walker in a good match at No. 1 singles 10-8 in a third set tiebreaker.
- Scottsbluff’s Mohr finished 2-0 as Scottsbluff also won their dual against Alliance.
Both Scottsbluff and Gering will travel to North Platte tomorrow for the GNAC meet.

Both Scottsbluff and Gering play tomorrow in North Platte at the GNAC Tournament.
It’s GNAC day today (Friday) over at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering with the Bulldogs hosting this year. Both Gering and Scottsbluff figure to be near the top of the team standings. Expect North Platte to be among the top competitors today as Scottsbluff coach Brock Ehler told KNEB Sports earlier this week that NP could be a top five team in the state all-classes. Other teams competing today are Columbus, Hastings, and McCook.
Twin Cities Volleyball Invite
The big prep volleyball event starts this afternoon with matches at Scottsbluff High School in both gyms and the main gym over at Gering High School.
A total of 16 teams (Scottsbluff, Gering, Alliance, Sidney, Chadron, Ogallala, Thunder Basin, Torrington, Rapid City Stevens, Grand Island Northwest, Lexington, McCook, Burns, Spearfish SD, Rapid City Central, and North Platte) are on hand for the big two day event.

Tomorrow will feature teams from the region competing at the Chadron Invitational.
Some area runners are coming off fine performances at the annual UNK Invite earlier this week; Gering’s Madison Seiler finished in the girls Class B race. Regan Hodsden of Mitchell won the girls Class C race, and the Sidney boys won the Class C team title.
