In what’s shaping up to a be a great rivalry all season long the Scottsbluff girls golf team was able to edge Gering on Tuesday afternoon at the Scotts Bluff Country Club to win the Scottsbluff Invitational.
The Bearcats were able to shoot a winning score of 342 on their home course and that was good enough to earn a four-stroke win over Gering, who posted a combined round of 346.
The individual leaderboard was jampacked at the top.
Emily Krzyzanowksi of Scottsbluff was the top medalist, finishing first with a round of 80. Scottsbluff also got a top five finish out of Anna Kelley (4th) with a round of 83.
Gering’s top two scorers were Madi Schlaepfer with a 82, good for third place, and Ali Boswell, who finished fifth on the day posting a 84.
Ogallala’s Harley Hiltibrand finished second, shooting 81 on the afternoon.
