Four Hawks score double digits in win over Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Four Northeast Community College women’s basketball players scored in double digits on Saturday as the Hawks (13-7, 12-7 ICCAC) toppled Marshalltown Community College, 76-50 in Marshalltown, Iowa. 

The Hawks held the Tigers to only nine points in the first quarter and managed to take a 36-19 lead at halftime. Northeast heated up down the stretch and went on to shoot 50 percent from the field and 38 percent from the three-point line. 

Taylor Peter (Chambers, Neb.) led the Hawks with 19 points and seven rebounds. Patricija Peric (Zagreb, Croatia) and Ashley Hassett (Hershey, Neb.) each had 15 points, while Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) added 14 points, five boards and five assists. Hannah Ollendick (Tilden, Neb.) pitched in six points and five rebounds in 14 minutes of action. 

The Hawks return home to face Iowa Lakes Community College at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
