DC West/Concordia Out Slugs LVSS

UEHLING – DC West/Concordia defeated Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 10-5 in high school softball aired on 107.9 The Bull on Tuesday night, September 1.

The Falcons began their scoring by plating three runs in the second inning.

LVSS scored one run each in the bottom half of the third and fourth innings, cutting the score to 3-2.

Both teams scored in the fifth, with Dc West adding two runs and LVSS scoring once. The Falcons led 5-3 after five innings.

The Falcons added two more runs in the sixth compared to one for the Raiders, and DC West/Concordia now led 7-4 after the sixth.

Regan Ptacek smacked a three-run home run in the top of the seventh, giving DC West a 10-4 lead.

LVSS started a rally in the bottom half of the seventh, as they loaded the bases three times, but were only able to score once, making the final DC West/Concordia 10, LVSS 5.

Valerie Uehling pitched a complete game for the Raiders, allowing 10 runs on seven hits with just two walks, while striking out 12. The Raiders committed six defensive errors in the game.

At the plate for LVSS, Emma Hilbers reached base in all four at bats, record a triple, single and two walks. Josie Kahlandt had a pair of singles with an RBI and a walk, and Emily Miller had two singles and a walk.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is now 4-4 on the season and will participate in the Highway 91 triangular on Thursday, Spet. 3.
