Creightons Agnew Claims Fourth BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor

New York, N.Y. — Agnew claimed her fourth certificate of the season after leading the BIG EAST in scoring last week with a 25.3 points per game clip, along with the second-highest rebounding average at 9.3. The senior eclipsed the 30-point mark for the second time this season with 31 points in Tuesdays win (Dec. 31st) at Villanova. She followed with 27 points and nine boards in a win over Marquette on Friday, before capping the week with her second double-double of the year with 18 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in the Bluejays three-point setback to No. 16/17 DePaul. Through four BIG EAST games this season, Agnew continues to lead the league in scoring with a 24.8 average.

Agnew and the Bluejays remain home for a single-game this week as Creighton hosts Providence at a11:00 am (CT) on CBSSN.

BIG EAST Womens Basketball Freshman of the Week
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, R-Fr., F
Siegrist picks up her sixth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate of the season after averaging a double-double in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats. After totaling 10 points and eight rebounds against Creighton on Tuesday, Siegrist had an impressive road swing at Seton Hall and St. Johns, averaging 20 points and 12.5 rebounds in a pair of wins. For the three-game week, she averaged 16.7 points and a BIG EAST-best 11.0 rebounds. Through 14 games this year, Siegrist remains the BIG EASTs top scorer at 20.6 points per game.

BIG EAST Womens Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Chante Stonewall, DePaul, Sr., F
Stonewall helped keep the Blue Demons undefeated in BIG EAST play with a pair of road wins last week, averaging 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and .417 shooting in wins at Providence and Creighton. Her week was highlighted by a 26-point, three-rebounding outing over the previously unbeaten Bluejays.

Qadashah Hoppie, St. Johns, Jr., G
Hoppie scored in double figures in all three games last week to average 18.7 points and lead the Red Storm to a 2-1 stretch. She made 13-of-25 shots from beyond the arc and added 2.3 assists.

Mya Jackson, Seton Hall, Fr., G
Jackson led the Pirates to a 2-1 week, averaging 15.0 points per game, highlighted by a 25-point, five-rebound performance in The Halls win at Xavier on Tuesday. The rookie made 10-of-20 shots from long range on the week and totaled seven assists, including five in Sundays win over Georgetown.

Mary Gedaka, Villanova, Sr., F
In a 2-1 week for the Wildcats, Gedaka averaged 19.7 points and 6.0 rebounds, making 48.1 percent of her shots from the field. She reached the 20-point in road wins at Seton Hall and St. Johns, highlighted by the go-ahead three-pointer with 16 seconds left in overtime against the Red Storm.

Ariana Gray, Xavier, Jr., F
Gray finished the week as the No. 2 scorer and No. 3 rebounder in the BIG EAST, averaging 25.0 points and 9.0 rebounds against Seton Hall and Butler. The junior made 44.7 percent of her attempts from the field while adding 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists. Her week was highlighted by a 28-point, 13-rebound, five-steal showing against the Bulldogs.
