Down 8-7 moments later another 5-0 burst on a three-pointer from freshman Morgan Maly and a layup by sophomore Carly Bachelor. Providence, however, closed the first quarter on a 9-0 run to hold a 17-12 edge.

A low scoring second saw the Bluejays connect on just three shots, finishing 3-for-13 in the frame (23.1%) and heading into the locker room down 29-21.

Throughout the second half Creighton was unable to break through for a run, getting within nine (47-38) in the closing moments of the third.

Down 51-38 early in the fourth, Creighton used a 6-0 run to trim the deficit down to seven at 51-44. The Friars, however, closed the Bluejay window with seven straight.
