OMAHA, Neb. —  Fresh off Saturdays 76-61 win at Villanova, the Creighton mens basketball team returned to the national rankings on Monday, February 3rd. The Bluejays are 21st in this weeks Associated Press poll, and 22nd in the USA Today/Coaches poll.

Creighton (17-5, 6-3 BIG EAST), which was 25th in the AP poll on January 13th, has now been ranked in the AP poll in 90 weeks in program history, with 62 of those under the direction of Greg McDermott. Creighton is 113-44 all-time as a ranked team, including a 79-32 mark under McDermott. Creighton has been ranked at least one week in seven of McDermotts 10 seasons on The Hilltop after doing it just five different seasons in program history before his 2010 arrival.

This weeks ranking is the best mark for Creighton in the AP poll since being 20th on Feb. 13, 2017. Creightons highest all-time ranking was No. 7 during the week of Jan. 16, 2017.

The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. Central game at Providence. Ironically enough, Creightons last game as a ranked team came on January 18, 2020, when it also met Providence.
.
The Bluejays are one of four BIG EAST teams that are nationally ranked by the AP this week, joining No. 10 Villanova and No. 12 Seton Hall and No. 19 Butler.
