Creighton Baseball drops series finale to KU

Lawrence, Kan. — The Creighton Baseball team suffered a 7-4 loss in the series finale at Kansas on Sunday, March 21.

The loss moved the Bluejays to 4-7 on the season, while Kansas climbed to 12-6.

Sophomore Andrew Meggs and Jared Wegner led the offense with two hits each, while junior David Webel delivered a pair of RBI.

Kansas jumped out to a 6-0 lead with single runs in the first and third frames as well as four runs in the second.

Down 7-0 in the sixth the Bluejays got on the board via an RBI triple from senior Parker Upton.

In the final frame the Bluejays plated three runs on an RBI double from Jack Grace and Webels two-run single up the middle.

Bluejay starter Garret Reisz took the loss (0-1), allowing five runs on two hits and four walks in 1.2 innings.

Creighton returns to the diamond on Friday, March 26 as the Bluejays begin a home series with Bradley on Friday at 6:30 pm.
