The Central Community College men’s basketball team opened the 2019-20 season with a 99-74 win over Doane University JV on Friday at Raider Fieldhouse.

“It was a good opening game for us in that we did some really good things, but there’s definitely plenty to work on,” said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf, who coached his first game.

CCC was led in scoring by Tre’vion Crawford with 22 points, while Roman Behrens totaled 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.

“Tre really carried the scoring load for us early in the game. Roman did a great job sharing the ball and pushing tempo,” said Ritzdorf. “Chase Ruzicka and Jack Mohr provided a big time spark off the bench for us.”

CCC will return to Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday night to host Peru State. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
