The Central Community College womens basketball team defeated York College JV, 70-66, on Monday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

The Raiders jumped out a big lead early and led 27-16 at the end of the first quarter. CCC went on to take a 43-30 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Panthers had the upper hand in both the third and fourth periods, but the clock ran out and the Raiders survived.

“It was not pretty, but we got a win,” said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. “The team did a good job to grind out the win.”

Jasmine Williams led the Raiders in scoring with 18 points. Monica Brooks posted a double-double with 16 points and a dozen rebounds. Isabel Diaz finished with 13 points.

The win gives the Raiders a three-game winning streak and a 9-10 overall record.

CCC will close out January with a home game on Friday against Southeast Community College. The Raiders and the Lady Storm will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Raider Fieldhouse.
