The Central Community College volleyball team was shutout, 3-0, at McCook Community College on Saturday.

The final scores in the final regular season finale were 25-21, 25-19 and 25-18.

Emily Otten registered 11 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Chloe Odbert totaled 22 assists and Devyn Erickson served two aces.

“We had some good moments, but we could not execute consistently,” said CCC head coach Abby Pollart. “McCook is a solid team with quite a few weapons. We didn’t always answer back.”

With the win, the Raiders posted an 8-14 regular season record.

Central secured the second seed in the Region IX tournament and will host third-seed Southeast Community College in the opening round game at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night. The Raiders swept the Storm during the regular season with 3-1 victories in both matches.

“We are excited to be hosting the first round of the Region IX tournament,” said Pollart. “We plan to embrace each day and match as an opportunity and another day to be in the gym together working toward our team goals.”

The winner of Wednesday night’s contest will advance to the Region IX tournament championship game at 4 p.m. on Saturday at North Platte Community College. The top-seed Knights are 12-13 heading into tournament play and swept CCC during the regular season.
