The Central Community College softball team lost both games of a double header to Iowa Western Community College at Raider Field on Tuesday. The Reivers won the first contest in five innings, 11-1, followed an 8-2 victory in the second game.
In the opener, IWCC logged five runs in the second and fourth innings, while CCC’s lone run was scored in the fifth inning.
In the second contest, the game remained scoreless through the first two innings. The Reivers scored three runs in the top of the third inning, while the Raiders scored a single run.
Iowa Western made it a 4-1 score with a single run in the fourth inning, followed by a single run in the top of the fifth inning to take a 5-1 advantage. Central’s Ragan Wood belted a triple in the bottom of the fourth inning and later scored to cut IWCC’s lead to 5-2.
The Reivers added three more runs in the sixth inning for the 8-2 win.
The 0-2 Raiders will travel to North Central Missouri College on Friday for a double header. The games start at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
