Southeast’s Tyson Lewis scored a running jump shot as time expired to lift the Storm to an 89-87 victory over the Raiders on Saturday.

Six seconds earlier, CCC’s Dwight Glover tied the game at 87 with a pair of free throws. Lewis took the inbound pass and went untouched the length of the court and scored the game-winning shot.

After a close first half, the Raiders went up by 14 points in the second half before the Storm fought back. Saturday’s game mirrored the first meeting last month between CCC and SCC where the Raiders built a 15-poing lead before watching the Storm comeback for a two-point victory.

“It was very similar to the first time we played those guys,” said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. “We controlled the game most of the way. We just did not continue to execute what we needed to do to win the game. It’s a good team we lost to. There is no shame in losing to that team, it’s just disappointing.”

Glover logged a double-double with 28 points and a dozen rebounds. Caleb Muia scored 18 points, while Michael Ozomah chipped in 11 points.

The loss gives the Raiders an 8-11 record for the 2021 regular season.

Before the game, seven CCC sophomores were recognized for playing their final regular season home game. They were Jaden Black, Logan Dorn, Glover, Kyle Hawthorne, Gacoby Jones, Ozomah and Emarr Vinson.

The Raiders and the Storm will meet on Saturday in the Region IX championship game. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
