Caleb Muia scored 23 points and hauled in 16 rebounds to lead the Raiders to an 88-71 win over North Central Missouri College at the Raider Fieldhouse on Monday night.

The Raiders jumped out of the gate with a 14-5 run over the first five minutes of the contest. CCC led by 14 points twice in the first half before taking a 42-31 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Tigers pulled to within two points, 52-50, at the 12:48 mark. Central responded with a 17-6 run over a five-and-a-half-minute span and cruised to the victory.

“Overall, it was a great team effort with multiple guys stepping up,” said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. “We did a great job of taking care of the basketball. To have only 12 turnovers against a team that pressed the entire game is a huge reason why we won.”

CCCs Tredyn Prososki scored 18 points off the bench, while Gavin Lipovsky scored 13 points.

The win gives the Raiders an 8-10 record.

The Raiders are off until Saturday, March 27, when they host Southeast Community College in the regular season finale at 4 p.m. CCC will look to avenge a 75-73 loss to the Storm earlier in the season.

The Central Community College womens basketball team lost to North Central Missouri College, 78-50, on Monday night at the Raider Fieldhouse.

The Tigers took the first quarter, 19-11, before building a 15-point lead in the second quarter. The Raiders trailed at halftime, 39-27. CCC was held to nine points in the third quarter as the Tigers rolled to the 28-point win.

“We came out and played a decent first half,” said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. “We just couldnt come out in the second half and get things going.”

Macey Thege scored 13 points to the lead the Raiders, while Bailey Lehr scored 11 points.

With the loss, CCC is 3-14 on the season.

The Raiders will return to action on Monday with a road venture to Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan. The game is set for 5:30 p.m. and only those guests on the pass list will be admitted.
