CCC Men and Women beat Southeast in Region IX Championship

Trevion Crawford scored 31 points to lead Raiders past Southeast Community College, 94-79, in the Region IX championship game on Saturday at Raider Fieldhouse.

The first half was close as the Raiders held a slim one-point advantage at halftime, 33-32. In the second half, the CCC defense clamped down and the Raiders built a 20-point advantage, the largest of the game. CCC won the rebounding battle, 48-35.

CCCs Cooper Pratt scored 20 points, while Roman Behrens scored 17 points, all of which were scored in the second half. Nathan Frost logged a double-double with 10 points and a dozen rebounds.

The win is the seventh consecutive for the Raiders, who are 20-10 on the season.

CCC advances to the district round and will take on the winner of Sundays Region XIII title game between Dakota County Technical College and United Tribes Technical College. Complete details will be posted as soon as possible.

 

The Raiders battled back from a seven-point deficit with under five minutes to play and held on for a 63-61 victory over Southeast Community College to claim the Region IX title.

CCC was led in scoring by Jasmine Williams with 20 points, while Monica Brooks scored a dozen points. Allanah Beller rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

With the win, the Raiders are 14-13.

CCC advances to the district round and will take on the winner of Sundays Region XIII title game between United Tribes Technical College and Gogebic Community College. Complete details will be posted as soon as possible.
