Cadets Run Past ONeill 53-14

ONEILL – West Point-Beemer ran the option offense to near perfection on their way to a 53-14 road win at ONeill on Friday, Sept. 18 in a game aired on 107.9 The Bull.

The Cadets got out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to an eight-yard by QB Jesus Barragan and a 22-yard run by Edgar Rodriguez.

West Point-Beemer then scored three times in the second quarter, a seven-yard run by Alejandro Edeza, a four-yard run by Treven Weddle and a 20-yard pass from Barragan to Drake Repschlaeger.

The Cadets led 33-0 at halftime.

West Point-Beemer started the second half with the ball and reached pay dirt once again when Rodriguez raced in from 75 yards, making the score 39-0.

It didnt take long from West Point-Beemer to add another score, doing so on their next possession, a 37-yard run from backup QB Riley Penrose, making it 46-0.

The Eagles finally got on the scoreboard with 23 seconds left in the third quarter, and the Cadets led 46-6 after three.

West Point-Beemer added a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 47-yard dash from Keaton Persson, and ONeill scored once more, adding a two-point conversion, making the score WP-B 53, ONeill 14.

West Point-Beemer took the ball to the Eagle 35 yard line before being turned away on fourth down. The Eagles then threw an interception to end the game, preserving the final of 53-14.

West Point-Beemer improves to 2-2 on the season and will host Columbus Scotus next Friday.
