FREMONT – Bancroft-Rosalie/Lyons-Decatur won its second girls East Husker Conference basketball tournament championship by beating West Point-Beemer 56-53 on Saturday at Midland University, in a game aired on 107.9 The Bull.
The game was close throughout, with BRLD leading 16-12 after the first quarter, and the score would end up tied at 23-23 heading into halftime.
The Wolverines hit their stride on offense in the third period, outscoring the Cadets 20-12, and BRLD led 43-35.
West Point-Beemer outscored BRLD 18-13 in the fourth quarter, and would eventually take the lead, but BRLD was able to hang on late for the 56-53 win.
Sidney Swanson led the way for the Cadets with 23 points and Reece Snodgrass added 15.
Jordan Snyder dominated in the post for BRLD and finished with 22 points. Caragan Tietz chipped in 12.
BRLD claimed its second overall EHC title, after winning its first in 2018.
