Shelby – It was a BDS sweep Friday night at Shelby-Rising City High School, as the Eagles boys and girls basketball teams both knocked off the Shelby-Rising City Huskies. The girls contest was over quickly, as BDS jumped out to a 17-2 first quarter lead and were never threatened. The Eagles forced 27 turnovers in the 49-12 victory. BDS (14-7) was led by Jordan Bolte and Jess Hudson with 11 points apiece, while Allie Neujahr, Ava Larmon, and Alex Larmon each scored four for the Huskies (5-15).
The boys game was tight early, with BDS leading just 12-10 after one quarter. The Eagles extended their advantage to 26-17 by halftime, and went on to win 47-32 to raise their season record to 16-5. Eli Noel scored 12 points to lead the way for BDS, with Dalton Kleinschmidt adding 11. Colin Wingard led the Huskies (10-9) with a game-high 15 points.
