(AUDIO) Tekamah-Hermans Burt to wrestle at Jamestown

April 30th, 2020 | Beth Rogers

Tekamah-Herman Wrestling Standout Marissa Burt will be wrestling for the Womens Program at Jamestown next year. Burt says signing with Jamestown was a slam dunk for her.

Burt says she also considered Midland, York, and Waldorf, among others.

She was drawn to Jamestown academically as well.

She is the daughter of Wes and Lisa Burt.

Burt says wrestling against the boys in high school helped prepare her for college.

Burt says she was one of the first girls to be on the team all four years.

She adds wrestling for Team Nebraska and taking 2nd place at Disney Nationals two years ago gave her a great amount of exposure.

Others from that team who went on to wrestle beyond high school include Brithany Cervantes of West Point-Beemer and Jerzie Menke of Bridgeport.
