TEKAMAH – For the second time this season, the Tekamah-Herman Softball Team defeated West Point-Beemer, shutting out the Cadets 14-0 in 3 innings at home in action heard on 107.9 the Bull Tuesday night.
The Tigers struck for 12 runs in the 1st inning, highlighted by a grand slam from Emma Wakehouse.
Tekamah-Herman added two more insurance runs in the 2nd inning.
Jenna Voskamp picked up the win for the Tigers, giving up 3 hits in 3 innings of work with no runs allowed.
Saige Miserez suffered the loss for the Cadets, giving up 9 runs on a hit with four walks and a hit batter.
Wakehouse was 1-1 with the grand slam, two runs scored, and a walk while Leann Hawkins went 1-2 with an RBI double and two runs scored. Maggie Sheets was 1-2 with a triple and an error that allowed her to score, and scored two runs. Halle Olsen was 1-1 with an RBI single and two runs scored, and Noel Monif was 2-2 with two singles and two runs scored.
West Point-Beemer falls to 3-16 on the season and hosts Boone Central on Thursday while the Tigers improve to 14-8 and are off until the East Husker Conference Tournament on Saturday.
