(AUDIO) Coach Lundquist Recaps Great Boys Golf Season for Oakland-Craig

It was a great season for the Oakland-Craig boys golf team, winning the East Husker Conference Championship, along with winning the C-2 District title and placing 3rd overall as a team at the state meet.

The Knights won the East Husker Conference meet with a score of a 321. Ian Lundquist placed third overall, with Gunnar Ray and Jared Mulder placing 5th and 6th, while Thomas Maline finished in 9th.

Lundquist was the individual champion at the C-2 District meet, with Ray, Maline and Colton Thomsen placing 5th, 6th and 7th, respectively. Oakland-Craig won the team championship with a score of a 335.

The district title qualified the Knights for the Class C state meet as a team.

Head coach Karl Lundquist talks about the team’s performance at state.

Due to the weather, Tuesday’s action at state golf was cancelled, so the golfers played 18 holes on Wednesday to determine things. The Knights finished in third place overall, with Ian Lundquist finishing in a tie for second place.

Oakland-Craig loses just one senior to graduation, with Jared Mulder moving on.
