The West Point Public Schools received a grade of “good” yesterday from the Nebraska Department of Education.
Report cards were released from last year’s tests in the Nebraska Student Centered Assessment System. Among the 11-hundred schools and 244 districts, about two thirds received grades of either “good” or “great .” Twelve percent were “excellent”; 13% were “needs improvement.”
In science, the students at West Point Public Schools received a score of 70 percent of students who scored proficiently compared to the statewide average of 66 percent. In English they scored 54 percent, still higher than the statewide average of 52 percent and in math, 51 percent compared to 52 percent statewide.
