AUGUST 28, 2020 (GRAND ISLAND, NEB.) — As the Nebraska State Fair kicks off, Nebraska State Troopers will be providing safety messages and giveaways to fair patrons throughout the 11-day event. Troopers and investigators will also perform security functions to keep the fair safe for all attendees.

“This year’s fair will look at a little different because of measures related to COVID-19, but our troopers are still eager to connect with the public,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP). “We hope that all fair-goers have a safe and fun trip to the Nebraska State Fair this year.”

Troopers will staff NSP’s booth, located in the southeast corner of the Pinnacle Bank Expo Building, throughout the 11 days of the fair. Troopers will provide information on road safety, career opportunities, and more, plus giveaways available for the public.

In addition to the NSP booth, troopers will also perform security operations for the fair. Troopers will patrol the fairgrounds in a variety of ways, including bicycles and all-terrain vehicles. The NSP Security Office is located in the Fonner Park Racing Office, for any fair-goers in need of law enforcement assistance.

The Nebraska State Fair runs from August 28 – September 7 at Fonner Park in Grand Island.
