NELIGH, Neb. (AP) – An April 1 sentencing has been scheduled for a county commissioner in northeast Nebraska accused of stealing an item from the county. Antelope County Court records say 66-year-old Eli Jacob has pleaded no contest to official misconduct. Prosecutors dropped a misdemeanor theft charge. Jacob, of Clearwater, was accused of taking a heater of some sort from a county shed on Jan. 1, 2019. A prosecutor has said Jacob returned the item.
