Scholarships awarded to area students by West Point Community Foundation

The West Point Community Foundation has awarded 32 scholarships to members of the Class of 2020. The value of the scholarships total $26,000.

Seven (7) students have been selected to receive the Allison Roeber Memorial Scholarships, five (5) from the Foundation and two (2) sponsored by the Don and Cathy Roeber. Each scholarship is worth $500. Receiving the scholarships are Adam Reeson, Jamie Pierce, Gabrielle Kreinert, Elizabeth Karnopp, Marissa Hunke, MaKenna Rolf, and Greta Vering. Alternates are Melissa Hagedorn and Hailey Jo Hakel.

Damon Crawford will receive the $500 Russ Herman Journalism Scholarship with Brooklyn Bailey as alternate. Aaron Disher was selected to receive the $500 Lindberg Northeast Community College Scholarship with Axcele Biteghe as alternate.

The Hank and Mona Stalp Scholarships worth $1000 will go to Kelsey Larsen, Brooke Meister, Jamie Pierce, Tyra Bonneau, Kylee Horst, MaKenna Rolf, Luke Kramer, Elizabeth Karnopp, Axcele Biteghe, Braxton Bargmann, Casey Doernemann, Hailey Jo Hakel, Parker Uhing, Matthew Rolf, Aaron Disher, Hannah Knobbe, Zoey Kreikemeier, William Gatzemeyer, and Gabrielle Kreinert. Alternates are Aspin Waterman, Makenzi Brown and Trey Bruce.

Gabrielle Kreinert was selected for the ARC – Elkhorn Valley Scholarship in Memory of Hattie Janecek for an individual seeking a degree in Special Education. The scholarship is worth $500. Alternate is Aspin Waterman.

The Gwen F. Kaup Memorial Scholarship worth $1,000 is being awarded to Jorge Ibarra. The Butterfly Angels Scholarships, each worth $500, are in memory of Lola Persson and Gwen (Persson) Kaup. Selected to receive the scholarships are MaKenna Rolf and Tessa Wallace.

RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIPS:

Braxton Bargmann is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Parent/guardian is Dusti Storm of Lyons. Braxton plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Mechanical Drafting.

Axcele Biteghe is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parent/guardian are Cedric and Christina Biteghe Bi-Ndong of West Point. Axcele plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Linguistic.

Tyra Bonneau is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Parents/guardians are Barry and Lauri Bonneau of Bancroft. Tyra plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in ObstetricNursing.

Damon Crawford is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are R. Scott and Caroline Crawford of Scribner. Damon plans to attend Regent University and pursue a degree in Communication Studies.

Aaron Disher is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are David and Jodi Disher of West Point. Aaron plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Building Construction.

Casey Doernemann is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Jim and Lynda Doernemann of Dodge. Casey plans to attend University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Agribusiness Sales.

William Gatzemeyer is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Parents/guardians are Todd and Michelle Gatzemeyer of Bancroft. William plans to attend Southeast Community College and pursue a degree in Business.

Hailey Jo Hakel is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Dan and Jill Hakel of West Point. Hailey Jo plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Neonatal Nursing.

Kylee Horst is a graduate of Wisner-Pilger. Parent/guardian is Kassidy Horst of Wisner. Kylee plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

Marissa Hunke is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Joel and Ginger Hunke of Snyder. Marissa plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

Jorge Ibarra is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parent/guardian is Maria Ibarra Magana of West Point. Jorge plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Automotives.

Elizabeth Karnopp is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Dave and Shannon Karnopp of West Point. Elizabeth plans to attend University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Pharmacy.

Hanna Knobbe is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Melissa Knobbe and the late Chris Knobbe of West Point. Hanna plans to attend University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Luke Kramer is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Parents/guardians are Troy and Tara Kramer of Rosalie. Luke plans to attend University of Nebraska Lincoln and pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.

Zoey Kreikemeier is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Todd and Heather Kreikemeier of West Point. Zoey plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Graphic Design.

Gabrielle Kreinert is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents/guardians are Philip and Kristen Kreinert of West Point. Gabrielle plans to attend Peru State College and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.

Kelsey Larsen is a graduate of Bancroft Rosalie High School. Parents/guardians are Gregg and Laura Murphy of Walthill. Kelsey plans to attend Wayne State College and pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.

Brooke Meister is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Steve and Donna Meister of West Point. Brooke plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University and pursue a degree in Business Administration.

Jamie Pierce is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parents/guardians are Lynn and Maggie Pierce of West Point. Jamie plans to attend University of Nebraska Kearney and pursue a degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Adam Reeson is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Mike and Rhonda Reeson of West Point. Adam plans to attend Marquette University and pursue a degree in Pre-Medicine.
MaKenna Rolf is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Mike and Pam Rolf of West Point. MaKenna plans to attend University of Nebraska Kearney and pursue a degree in Neuropsychology.

Matthew Rolf is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Brian and Jeannette Rolf of West Point. Matthew plans to attend Southeast Community College and pursue a degree in Diversified Ag.

Parker Uhing is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Kevin and Lisa Uhing of West Point. Parker plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue a degree in Diversified Ag.

Greta Vering is a graduate of Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Parents/guardians are Russel and Tamara Vering of Scribner. Greta plans to attend Nebraska Methodist University and pursue a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Tessa Wallace is a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School. Parent/guardian is Annette Schantz of West Point. Tessa plans to attend Central Community College and pursue a degree in Library Science.
