COVID 19 has affected many of our plans in 2020. How do you have a quilt show and still protect the health and safety of participants? Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild accepted the challenge and has planned a “Covid Style” quilt show. Activities will take place October 16 and 17.

The COVID Style Quilt Show will have four parts for your enjoyment. Included in the activities:

Raffle Quilt Drawing October 17, 3:00 p.m. at Country Traditions in Fremont
Vendor Sales 10% of the proceeds from their two-day sale goes to Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild
Country Traditions in Fremont
Acme Fabric in Blair

Tanzanian Treasures – will have a mini quilt show at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1725 South 60th Street, Omaha, 9 -5 each day. 50% of proceeds of each purchase go to Tanzanian Women’s Scholarships, Porch Quilt Show- members will display some of their quilts on their porches or in their yards, Facebook Quilt Show- on Prairie Piecemakers Fremont Facebook Page members will post photos of the quilts they would have shown in the quilt show.

Limited number of raffle tickets are available for the multicolored batik Eldon quilt which is the only fund raiser for the Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild. The 2020 Raffle Quilt was pieced by Teri Wolfe, Pam Schroeder, and Sue Arp. Sue Steier did a fabulous job of quilting the quilt. The quilt is Eldon designed by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts and is made from a rainbow of batiks. A few quilt raffle tickets are are available for purchase for$2.00 each. Next Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild Meeting will be held on Monday October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1440 East Military Street, Fremont. A workshop will be held on “Prefect Peels” beginning at Good Shepherd at 1:00 p.m. Sandi Griepenstroh, nationally noted quilt speaker from Central City, NE will present the workshop and Guild program. The Guild program is “Help, I Can’t Find It – Organizing Your Fabric and Tools”.

Prairie Piecemakers has over 75 active members. They host activities scheduled throughout the year with regular meetings August through April. You are invited to attend meetings and activities. We invite you to become a member of Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild. Guild members are from many communities near Fremont including Arlington, Cedar Bluffs, Omaha, Elkhorn, Blair, Bennington, Valley, Yutan, Hooper, Ames, Union, and West Point.
