More than 500 runners are expected when the 2019 Monument Marathon gets underway Saturday morning.
The full-and half-marathons begin at 7:30 a.m., with the 5k to start half an hour later. All of the race routes will end at the Five Rocks Amphitheater.
Race Coordinator and WNCC Foundation Executive Director Jennifer Reisig tells KNEB News a change to next year’s marathon will be unveiled during the Health Expo that starts at noon Friday and continues to 8 p.m. The public is invited to come meet runners as they.check in and pick up their packets, with a pasta feed open to all at 5 p.m. to be followed by a guest speaker.
While weather conditions during the race may be a bit cooler and wetter than last year, Reisig tells us there are participants gunning to break course records.
