Northeast to hold classes in West Point and Norfolk later this month
———- Forwarded message ———- From: Bill Boyer Date: Mon, Apr 14, 2014 at 5:45 PM Subject: Website Pictures & Copyright Info Good evening. I wanted to take a moment to follow up on some points with the website photo policy that you got last week. First, all the photos on the website that I couldnt prove we had copyright access to use were removed from the site over the week. In order to make sure we are 100 percent compliant with copyright rules, I will be checking the photos daily for the next couple weeks and will be sending out more information on/deleting photos that do not match the guidelines. You will find a one-sheet guide to print out and keep handy when you are posting pictures. There are a couple other things I want to share. NEBRASKA LEGISLATURE I will be uploading five pictures of all Nebraska State Senators to the website, along with some other photos that we have permission to use from the Nebraska Unicameral. To help you find them in the Site Manager image gallery, you will find them under the following naming convention: COURTESY_NE_LEG_XX_FirstName_LastName.jpg (XX is the district number) COURTESY_NE_LEG_Photo (Routunda, Hall_Of_Fame, Great_Hall, etc.) HUSKERS We can use pictures from Huskers.com. These MUST be captioned with the following: Courtesy/Nebraska Media Relations NEBRASKA TOURISM We now have permission to use photos from Nebraska Tourism. These photos can be downloaded at http://photogallery.visitnebraska.com, with the username nrrnews and password nrrnews45. See the attached quick guide for caption info. These photos are searchable by county, city, etc. and can be very helpful. FACEBOOK/TWITTER/SOCIAL MEDIA Despite what most of us thought, courts have ruled that Facebook, Twitter, and other social media photos are NOT in the public domain, and may NOT be used without permission. GETTING PERMISSION If you have permission to use a photo, please save it in a file (print out or save your e-mail, etc.), as we would need it in the event that we are asked to prove we have permission to use it. Please note that if someone forwards or sends a photo to you, you need to make sure that they are the one who took it and give you permission to use it. Again, save and/or print your e-mail. Thanks for all your help! Again, call or e-mail with questions. — Bill Boyer, Director of Programming and Operations KNEB 960 AM / 94.1 The Brand / The Beet at KNEB.com Voice: 308-632-7121 Direct: 308-633-9499 Fax: 308-635-1079 — Dave Schroeder News Director KRVN Radio SB10069478A-001/DIGITAL VISION/ThinkStock
