Northeast to hold a pair of late October Classes at Norfolk Campus

NORFOLK – The Allied Health Department at Northeast Community College in Norfolk will offer a pediatric life support class in October

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (HLTH 5510/19F & CRN #60071) will meet Tuesday and Wednesday, October 29 and 30, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in the Nebraska Room at Faith Regional Health Services, 2700 W. Norfolk Ave., in Norfolk.

This class will provide health care professionals with the knowledge to prevent and recognize cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. Participants will perform cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in cardiopulmonary arrest.

This course has the following pre-requisites: a review of the manual and completion of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) pre-course online self-assessment test. Participants are asked to print their test score and bring it to class, along with a current Basic Life Support CPR card.

Cost of the class is $160. The textbook is available in the Hawks Shop, which is located in the Northeast Library/Resource Center on the Norfolk campus, (402) 844-7140.
