One subject taken into custody following large search effort in North Platte

One subject taken into custody following large search effort in North Platte

North Platte area law enforcement agencies took one person into custody early this afternoon(Thursday) following a large search effort along the South Platte River at North Platte northwest of the main Interstate 80 interchange at exit 177.  It involved Nebraska State Patrol, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and North Platte Police Department. Police dogs and an airplane were also been called the area.

No information was immediately released on the nature of the search.

Nebraska State Patrol has issued a “traffic alert” for North Platte area. Law enforcement is conducting a search in an area along the Platte River west of the Interstate 80 main interchange at North Platte or exit 177. The focus of the search is between West Leota Street and West South River Road. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and North Platte Police Department were also assisting.

No information was released on the nature of the search.
