The past 18 hours have not been a good time to drive drunk in Stanton County. On Wednesday night about 11:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office arrested a 32 year old Norfolk man on charges of Driving While Intoxicted-3rd offense and Speeding 68 mph in a 60 zone on Hwy 35 near Woodland Park. Carlos Lopez was released from jail after posting a $10,000.00 bond.
On Thursday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. the Sheriff’s office arrested a 22 year old Omaha man on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Above .150% bac.) and No Operators License after he was stopped on Hwy 15 about nine miles South of Pilger. Benigno Rodimiro Casco-Flores was arrested after several complaints about his reckless driving on Hwy 57 South of Stanton. The response to his driving complaints were hampered due to the Hwy 57 Bridge out of Stanton being closed. He was later located on Hwy 15 and tested at more than 3 times the legal limit for DWI. Casio-Flores remains in jail pending the posting of bond.
Shortly after that arrest, a 58 year old Norfolk man was arrested by the Sheriff’s office on charges of Driving While Intoxicated-2nd offense (Above .150% bac), Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia, and Open Container of Alcoholic Liquor. Frank Wagner was stopped on Hwy 275 about 13 miles east of Norfolk following complaints about his erratic driving. Wagner tested more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit and has seven prior DWI convictions. Wagner was released from custody following the posting of a cash bond.
