Meth Found After Vehicle Breaks Down In York County

YORK COUNTY- The York County Sheriff’s Department found and seized a bag of methamphetamine, in the engine compartment of a broke down vehicle. According to Investigator Alex Hildebrand of the York County Sherriff’s Department, the vehicle was found near Road 5 on Highway 81.

Also according to Hildebrand, inconsistent stories from the two individuals in the vehicle, male Lance Smith II, and female Shayla K. Johnson, both from Newman Grove, they deployed a canine and the dog alerted narcotics were in the vicinity. 20 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia were found.

Smith and Johnson were taken into custody at York County Jail on drug-related charges.
