GRAND ISLAND- Three men were arrested Sunday morning after a Polk man was shot in Grand Island. Bradley Thompson, 31 of Polk, was shot twice in the lower leg and foot at about 5:25 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say that the wounds sustained by Thompson are nonlife-threatening. The incident occurred outside of 1308 N. Broadwell Ave. The altercation was during an after-bar gathering.
The suspect was identified as Eddie Valenzuela, a 21-year-old male from Grand Island. The Police took Valenzuela and Vicente Ramirez, 21 years old, into custody as well. They were pulled over from a traffic stop, according to Grand Island Police Captain Jim Duering.
A search warrant was served for the apartment and during the search, Matthew Pena was found. Pena, 21 years old, from Kearney, was arrested on warrants from Dawson, Buffalo, and Seward counties.
A search was conducted on Valenzuela’s vehicle and the apartment, shared with Ramirez. The men were in possession of a firearm, a large amount of marijuana, and THC edibles. Valenzuela was in possession of thousands of dollars in cash.
Valenzuela was arrested for attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of both marijuana and a firearm, with intent to distribute, and possession of drug monies.
Ramirez was arrested for a Buffalo County warrant and possession of marijuana and a firearm with intent to distribute.
